Environment<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zunroof.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Worlds-First-Solar-Technology-Summit-on-Sept-8.jpg\" alt=\"World's First Solar Technology Summit on Sept 8 - ZunRoof\" \/><\/div>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><b>Why In News?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The first\u00a0<b>World Solar Technology Summit<\/b>\u00a0is being organised by the\u00a0<b>International Solar Alliance (ISA) on 8 September.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><b>Key Points:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>More than 26000 participants from 149 countries have registered to join the virtual Summit.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>inaugural will witness the rolling of an action-packed agenda<\/strong>\u00a0with the conclusion and announcement of three agreements between ISA and International Institute of Refrigeration, a second with\u00a0<strong>Global Green Growth Institute<\/strong>\u00a0and the third agreement with National Thermal Power Corporation.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0A tripartite agreement between India\u2019s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the World Bank and the International Solar Alliance is also set to be inked.<\/li>\n<li><b>Other new initiatives-\u00a0<\/b><b>\u00a0ISA\u2019s technology journal,<\/b>\u00a0Solar Compass 360 will also be launched during the summit.\n<ul>\n<li>ISA would also launch a journal on Solar Energy (I JOSE) that would help authors from across the globe to<b>\u00a0publish their articles on solar energy which\u00a0<\/b>would be\u00a0<b>reviewed by global experts<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>International Solar Alliance (ISA) is preparing a detailed project report (DPR) on the creation of<b>\u00a0World Solar Bank<\/b>\u00a0with an authorised capital of USD 15 billion to fund projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><b>About World Solar Technology Summit:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/img.etimg.com\/thumb\/width-1200,height-900,imgsize-1256118,resizemode-1,msid-77595298\/industry\/energy\/power\/indian-solar-alliance-to-hold-world-solar-technology-summit-on-september-8.jpg\" alt=\"Indian Solar Alliance to hold World Solar Technology Summit on September 8  - The Economic Times\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an attempt to bring together\u00a0<b>scientists, engineers and member states<\/b>\u00a0to sit down together and think about what the challenges are in realising the dream of making energy affordable and abundant<\/li>\n<li><b>Significance-\u00a0<\/b>This summit assumes significance in view of India\u2019s ambitious target of having\u00a0<b>100GW of solar energy by 2022<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li><b>Objectives-\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>To bring the spotlight on state-of-the-art technologies as well as next-generation technologies which will provide impetus to the efforts towards\u00a0<b>harnessing solar energy\u00a0<\/b>more efficiently.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><b>What is International Solar Alliance or ISA?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/knowledgekart.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2.jpg\" alt=\"International Solar Alliance UPSC IAS 2020 General Knowledge\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The International Solar Alliance (ISA) is a treaty-based<b>\u00a0inter-governmental organization\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0of sunshine rich countries set up by India and France<\/li>\n<li>It was established during the\u00a0<b>UN Climate Change Conference in Paris in 2015<\/b>\u00a0and it has 75 signatory countries.<\/li>\n<li>It is working to create a global market system to tap the benefits of solar power and promote clean energy applications.<\/li>\n<li><b>Objectives-\u00a0<\/b>It paves the way for future solar generation, storage and technologies for Member countries\u2019 needs by mobilising over USD 1000 billion by 2030.\n<ul>\n<li>The ISA plays a four-fold role in establishing a global solar market: it is an accelerator, an enabler, an incubator, and a facilitator.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0It strengthens the climate action in member countries, helping them fulfil the commitments expressed in their\u00a0<strong>Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>For more such notes, Articles, News &amp;
