Dehing Patkai was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 2004.<\/p>\n<p><b>About:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.drishtiias.com\/images\/uploads\/1594456021_image6.jpg\" alt=\"Dehing Patkai Wildlife Sanctuary\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The 112 km2 Dehing Patkai Wildlife Sanctuary is located within the larger Dehing Patkai Elephant Reserve, which spreads across the coal- and oil-rich districts of Upper Assam (Dibrugarh, Tinsukia and Sivasagar).<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 It is believed to be the last remaining contiguous patch of lowland rainforest area in Assam.
