And they are conducting trials to test the hypothesis.<\/p>\n<p><b>About:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 At the centre of the nicotine hypothesis is a receptor that responds to nicotine as well as a chemical called <strong>acetylcholine.<\/strong> Hence its name: <strong>\u201cnicotinic acetylcholine receptor\u201d,<\/strong> abbreviated as <strong>nAChR.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong> nAChR is found in parts of the nervous system, muscle and certain tissues of organisms including humans.
