color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong>OATH OR AFFIRMATION<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>President shall make and subscribe before the Chief Justice of India or, in his absence, the senior-most Judge of the Supreme Court an oath or affirmation.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong>TENURE<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The President shall hold office for a term of five years from the date on which he enters upon his office and can be eligible for re-election to that office.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/president.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7041\" src=\"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/president.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" srcset=\"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/president.png 259w, https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/president-150x112.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 259px) 100vw, 259px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong>QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Is a citizen of India, has completed thirty-five years of age is qualified for election as a member of the House of the People.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/president-of-india-17-638.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7043\" src=\"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/president-of-india-17-638.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"638\" height=\"479\" srcset=\"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/president-of-india-17-638.jpg 638w, https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/president-of-india-17-638-150x113.jpg 150w, https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/president-of-india-17-638-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 638px) 100vw, 638px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong>RESIGNATION<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>President may, by writing under his hand addressed to the Vice-President, resign his office.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong>IMPEACHMENT<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The charge to impeach the President shall be preferred by either House of Parliament and the other House shall investigate the charge; atleast 14 days-notice has to be given in writing signed by not less than one-fourth of the total number of members of the House.<\/li>\n<li>Such resolution has to be passed by a <strong>majority of not less than two-thirds of the total membership of the House.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>If as a result of the investigation a resolution is passed by a <strong>majority of not less than two-thirds of the total<\/strong> <strong>membership of the House <\/strong>by which the charge was investigated or caused to be investigated, declaring that the charge preferred against the President has been sustained, such resolution shall have the effect of removing the President from his office as from the date on which the resolution is so passed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/the-powers-and-functions-of-the-president-2-11-638.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7044\" src=\"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/the-powers-and-functions-of-the-president-2-11-638.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"638\" height=\"479\" srcset=\"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/the-powers-and-functions-of-the-president-2-11-638.jpg 638w, https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/the-powers-and-functions-of-the-president-2-11-638-150x113.jpg 150w, https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/the-powers-and-functions-of-the-president-2-11-638-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 638px) 100vw, 638px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>For more such notes, Articles, News &amp;
