{"id":6301,"date":"2020-02-13T13:58:54","date_gmt":"2020-02-13T08:28:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/?p=6301"},"modified":"2020-02-13T13:58:54","modified_gmt":"2020-02-13T08:28:54","slug":"e-credentials-e-certificates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/e-credentials-e-certificates\/","title":{"rendered":"E-Credentials\/E-Certificates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Relevance: Mains: G.S paper II: Governance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Why in news?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Government is developing the <strong>Electronic Skill Credential Standard (ESCS)<\/strong> Specification.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>About:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship proposes to issue digital \u2018e-Credentials \/ e-Certificates\u2019 which are freely portable for candidates and easily verifiable at scale by employers and job matching platforms but continue to allow print and other visual forms for human consumption.<\/li>\n<li>This would enable candidates to verifiably state their skill levels with a high degree of trust in authenticity to aggregators, matchers, and employers. Now in the DGT ecosystem, all the certificates are \u2018e-<br \/>\nCertificates\u2019, digitally signed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>e-Credentials:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>e-Credentials are an electronic scheme-based standard for describing credentials data in a machine-readable format (JSON-LDrepresentation of RDFa- Resource Description Framework, a web standard) along with its printable human-friendly version to make credential exchange between digital agents open and reliable.<\/li>\n<li>Certificates issued according to this specification can be aligned to one or more educational standards.<br \/>\nThey are secured using digital signatures.<\/li>\n<li>These will also be pushed in DigiLocker.<\/li>\n<li>This standard is an open standard, free to use, and does not cost anything extra to the Government or the student.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Relevance: Mains: G.S paper II: Governance Why in news?
