Rs.4.299 billion.<\/li>\n<li>A lapinized CSF vaccine (Weybridge strain, UK) is being used in India since 1964 for controlling the disease.The vaccine is produced by sacrificing large numbers of rabbits for each batch.<\/li>\n<li>The country\u2019s total requirements is 22 million doses per year and hardly 1.2 million doses are produced per year by the lapinized vaccine, as only 50 doses are produced from a single rabbit spleen.<\/li>\n<li>In order to do away sacrificing of rabbits and increase the productivity, IVRI had earlier developed a cell culture CSF vaccine by adapting the lapinized vaccine virus in cell culture.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/swine.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6171\" src=\"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/swine.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"850\" height=\"311\" srcset=\"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/swine.png 850w, https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/swine-150x55.png 150w, https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/swine-300x110.png 300w, https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/swine-768x281.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Key facts:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The new vaccine is ready for release and commercial production will be completed in less than a year.<\/li>\n<li>The vaccine would be the best choice for use in the CSF Control Programme (CSF-CP) already launched by DAHD (CSF-CP).<\/li>\n<li>The new vaccine will be part of the Government\u2019s One Health Initiative.<\/li>\n<li>The vaccine is safe, potent, does not revert to virulence and provide protective immunity from day 14 of the vaccination till 24 months studied so far.<\/li>\n<li>The vaccine has been tested on around 500 pigs at multiple locations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Relevance: Prelims\/mains: G.S paper II: Health Why in news?
