{"id":6032,"date":"2020-01-31T15:29:34","date_gmt":"2020-01-31T09:59:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/?p=6032"},"modified":"2020-01-31T15:29:34","modified_gmt":"2020-01-31T09:59:34","slug":"polycrack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/polycrack\/","title":{"rendered":"Polycrack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Relevance: Mains: G.S paper III: Science and technology<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/polycrack.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6033\" src=\"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/polycrack.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"304\" height=\"166\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Why in news?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Indian Railways has commissioned the country\u2019s first governmental waste to energy plant in Mancheswar Carriage Repair workshop at Bhubaneswar under the East Coast Railway zone.<\/li>\n<li>The Waste to Energy Plant, having a capacity of 500 kilogram waste per day has been constructed in three months.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/poly.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6034\" src=\"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/poly.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"565\" height=\"406\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Key facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This Waste to Energy Plant, a patented technology called POLYCRACK, is first-of-its-kind in Indian Railways and fourth in India.<\/li>\n<li>It is the world\u2019s first patented heterogeneous catalytic process which converts multiple feedstocks into hydrocarbon liquid fuels, gas, carbon and water.<\/li>\n<li>Polycrack plant can be fed with all types of plastic, petroleum sludge, un-segregated MSW (Municipal Solid Waste) with moisture up to 50 per cent, e-waste, automobile fluff, organic waste including bamboo, garden waste, etc., and jatropha fruit and palm bunch.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How the system can work?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The process is a closed-loop system and does not emit any hazardous pollutants into the atmosphere.<\/li>\n<li>The combustible, non-condensed gases are re-used for providing energy to the entire system and thus, the only emission comes from the combustion of gaseous fuels.<\/li>\n<li>The emissions from the combustion are found to be much less than prescribed environmental norms.<\/li>\n<li>This process will produce energy in the form of Light Diesel Oil which is used to light furnaces.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Relevance: Mains: G.S paper III: Science and technology Why in news?
