{"id":6022,"date":"2020-01-31T13:24:22","date_gmt":"2020-01-31T07:54:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/?p=6022"},"modified":"2020-01-31T13:24:22","modified_gmt":"2020-01-31T07:54:22","slug":"daily-current-affairs-prelims-62","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/daily-current-affairs-prelims-62\/","title":{"rendered":"Daily Current Affairs: Prelims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong>Operation Vanilla<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Why in news?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Indian Navy has launched operation Vanilla to provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief at Madagascar.<\/li>\n<li>Defence Ministry said, the Operation Vanilla has been launched to provide assistance to the affected population of Madagascar post devastation caused by Cyclone Diane.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key facts<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>During the port call, the ship, in coordination with Embassy of India and Government of Madagascar is planned to undertake relief operations to provide succour to the flood affected populace.<\/li>\n<li>The Indian Navy Ship is geared to set up medical camp and provide food, water and other necessary relief material.<\/li>\n<li>The Ministry said, the situation is being monitored and the Indian Navy is prepared to render all necessary assistance to the local population in Madagascar.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>No-fly list<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Why in news?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Four airlines in India \u2014 IndiGo, SpiceJet, Air India and GoAir \u2014 have banned stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra from taking their flights after he allegedly heckled television news anchor Arnab Goswami on an IndiGo flight.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>About:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In 2017, the government issued rules for preventing disruptive behaviour by air travellers and laid down guidelines for a no-fly list.<\/li>\n<li>As per the rules, a complaint of unruly behaviour needs to be filed by the pilot-in-command, and this is to be probed by an internal committee to be set up by the airline.<\/li>\n<li>During the period of pendency of the inquiry, the rules empower the concerned airline to impose a ban on the passenger. The committee is to decide the matter within 30 days, and also specify the ban duration.<\/li>\n<li>The rules define three categories of unruly behaviour;<\/li>\n<li>Level 1 refers to behaviour that is verbally unruly, and calls for debarment up to three months;<\/li>\n<li>Level 2 indicates physical unruliness and can lead to the passenger being debarred from flying for up to six months;<\/li>\n<li>Level 3 indicates life-threatening behaviour for which the debarment would be for a minimum of two years.<\/li>\n<li>Any aggrieved person, upon receipt of communication of a ban from the airline, may appeal within 60 days from the date of issue of the order, to an Appellate Committee constituted by the Ministry of Civil Aviation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Operation Vanilla Why in news?
