{"id":4724,"date":"2019-10-24T18:44:03","date_gmt":"2019-10-24T13:14:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/?p=4724"},"modified":"2019-10-24T18:44:03","modified_gmt":"2019-10-24T13:14:03","slug":"india-ranks63-in-world-banks-doing-business-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/india-ranks63-in-world-banks-doing-business-report\/","title":{"rendered":"India ranks63 in World Bank\u2019s Doing Business Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Relevance: Mains: G.S paper II: International Organizations<\/p>\n<p>India improves rank by 14 positions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The World Bank released its latest Doing Business Report (DBR, 2020) 2019.\u00a0<strong>India has recorded a jump of 14 positions<\/strong>\u00a0against its rank of 77 in 2019\u00a0<strong>to be placed now at 63<sup>rd<\/sup>rank among 190 countries<\/strong>\u00a0assessed by the World Bank. India&#8217;s leap of 14 ranks in the Ease of Doing Business ranking is significant considering that there has been continuous improvement since 2015 and for the third consecutive year India is amongst the top 10 improvers. As a result of continued efforts by the Government,\u00a0<strong>India has improved its rank by 79 positions in last five years<\/strong>\u00a0[2014-19].<\/p>\n<p>The Doing Business assessment provides objective measures of business regulations and their enforcement across 190 economies on ten parameters affecting a business through its life cycle. The DBR ranks countries on the basis of Distance to Frontier (DTF), a score that shows the gap of an economy to the global best practice. This year, India\u2019s DTF score improved to 71.0 from 67.23 in the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>India has improved its rank in 7 out of 10 indicators and has moved closer to international best practices (Distance to Frontier score).Significant improvements have been registered in \u2018Resolving Insolvency\u2019, &#8216;Dealing with Construction Permits&#8217;, \u2018Registering Property\u2019, \u2018Trading across Boards\u2019 and \u2018Paying Taxes\u2019 indicators.
