{"id":4289,"date":"2019-09-06T22:14:28","date_gmt":"2019-09-06T16:44:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/?p=4289"},"modified":"2019-09-06T22:14:28","modified_gmt":"2019-09-06T16:44:28","slug":"28th-indo-thai-corpat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/28th-indo-thai-corpat\/","title":{"rendered":"28TH Indo\u2013Thai CORPAT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Relevance: Prelims<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>28<sup>th\u00a0<\/sup>edition of India-Thailand Coordinated Patrol (Indo-Thai CORPAT) between the Indian Navy (<em>IN<\/em>) and the Royal Thai Navy (RTN) is being conducted.<\/p>\n<p>Indian Naval (<em>IN)\u00a0<\/em>Ship Kesari and His Majesty\u2019s Thailand Ship (HTMS) Kraburi along with Maritime Patrol Aircraft from both the navies are participating in the CORPAT.<\/p>\n<p><em>IN<\/em>\u00a0ships and aircraft of Andaman and Nicobar Command have been participating in the biannual Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) with the Royal Thai Navy (RTN) since 2003.<\/p>\n<p>The Objectives of the Indo-Thai CORPAT are to ensure effective implementation of United Nations Conventions on Laws of the Sea (UNCLOS), which specify regulations regarding protection and conservation of natural resources, conservation of marine environment, prevention and suppression of illegal, unregulated fishing activity\/ drug trafficking\/ piracy, exchange of information in prevention of smuggling, illegal immigration and conduct of Search and Rescue operations at sea.<\/p>\n<p><em>IN<\/em>\u00a0Dornier along with aircrew arrived at Bangkok, Thailand on 05 Sep 19 for Single Planning conference for the 28<sup>th\u00a0<\/sup>cycle of Indo-Thai CORPAT. Detailed discussions were held towards scheduling and conduct of the CORPAT along with joint exercises between ships\/ aircraft of both the navies.<\/p>\n<p>The 28<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0cycle of Indo-Thai CORPAT is poised to further enhance strong bilateral ties and maritime cooperation between India and Thailand.
