{"id":384,"date":"2018-04-09T13:10:49","date_gmt":"2018-04-09T07:40:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/?p=384"},"modified":"2018-04-09T13:10:49","modified_gmt":"2018-04-09T07:40:49","slug":"future-agreement-between-npcil-and-edf-of-france","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/future-agreement-between-npcil-and-edf-of-france\/","title":{"rendered":"Future Agreement between NPCIL and EDF of France"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul class=\"m_-4099797077742576351m_5511860171161347596ul1\">\n<li class=\"m_-4099797077742576351m_5511860171161347596li1\"><span class=\"m_-4099797077742576351m_5511860171161347596s2\">Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) and Electricite de France (EDF) of France have on March 10, 2018 signed an Industrial Way Forward Agreement for implementation of six nuclear power reactor units at Jaitapur, Maharashtra with a total capacity of about 10,000 MW.<span class=\"m_-4099797077742576351m_5511860171161347596Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"m_-4099797077742576351m_5511860171161347596s2\"><strong>Evolutionary Pressurized Reactors (EPRs)<\/strong> <\/span><\/h3>\n<ul class=\"m_-4099797077742576351m_5511860171161347596ul1\">\n<li class=\"m_-4099797077742576351m_5511860171161347596li1\"><span class=\"m_-4099797077742576351m_5511860171161347596s2\">The <strong>Evolutionary Pressurized Reactors (EPRs)<\/strong> are evolutionary reactors, whose design has evolved from \u201cKONVOI and \u201cN4 reactors which have been in operation in Germany and France respectively for about two decades.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"m_-4099797077742576351m_5511860171161347596li1\"><span class=\"m_-4099797077742576351m_5511860171161347596s2\">Further, the work at <strong>Jaitapur<\/strong> will be commenced only on demonstration of full power operation of Flamanville-3 under construction in France, as reference plant, to have an operationally proven technology.<span class=\"m_-4099797077742576351m_5511860171161347596Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"m_-4099797077742576351m_5511860171161347596li1\"><span class=\"m_-4099797077742576351m_5511860171161347596s2\">There are currently four EPRs under construction viz. Olkiluoto-3 in Finland, Flamanville-3 in France and Taishan 1&amp;2 in China.
