{"id":379,"date":"2018-04-09T13:02:03","date_gmt":"2018-04-09T07:32:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/?p=379"},"modified":"2018-04-09T13:05:25","modified_gmt":"2018-04-09T07:35:25","slug":"isro-launches-rh300-for-atmospheric-studies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/isro-launches-rh300-for-atmospheric-studies\/","title":{"rendered":"ISRO Launches RH300 for Atmospheric Studies"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>The <strong>RH-300 MKII sounding rocket<\/strong> developed by <strong>IRSO<\/strong>\u2019s <strong>Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC)<\/strong> was successfully launched from <strong>Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station<\/strong> in <strong>Thiruvananthapuram<\/strong>, <strong>Kerala<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The rocket was launched by VSSC under <strong>Sounding Rocket Experiment (SOUREX)<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Programme<\/strong> for<strong> atmospheric studies<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It utilises this rocket to study <strong>Equatorial<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>lower ionosphere regions of atmosphere<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The study will enrich available atmospheric data and refine models used for <strong>tropical weather prediction<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The objective of experiment is to <strong>measure neutral wind<\/strong> in dynamo region (80-120 km) of equatorial ionosphere using indigenously developed <strong>Electron Density and Neutral Wind Probe (ENWi)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It will also perform cross-validation using an independent <strong>Tri Methyl Aluminium (TMA)<\/strong> release technique.<\/li>\n<li>It was overall 21st launch of RH300 sounding rocket.<\/li>\n<li>Atmospheric studies with TMA were done in 1960\u2019s utilizing sounding rockets of foreign countries and first it was launched on May 2, 1965 using Centaure rocket.
