{"id":3702,"date":"2019-07-17T10:53:06","date_gmt":"2019-07-17T05:23:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/?p=3702"},"modified":"2019-07-17T10:53:06","modified_gmt":"2019-07-17T05:23:06","slug":"eradicating-tb-by-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/eradicating-tb-by-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Eradicating TB by 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"center\">\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Relevance: prelims\/mains: paper II: Government policies and interventions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Ministry has developed the National Strategic Plan (NSP) for Tuberculosis (2017-2025) with the goal of ending TB by 2025.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The key focus areas are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Early diagnosis of all the TB patients, prompt treatment with quality assured drugs and treatment regimens along with suitable patient support systems to promote adherence.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Engaging with the patients seeking care in the private sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Prevention strategies including active case finding and contact tracing in high risk \/ vulnerable population<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Airborne infection control.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Multi-sectoral response for addressing social determinants.<\/p>\n<p>According to the World Health Organization Global TB report 2018, the estimated number of TB cases in India in 2017 was 27,40,000, amounting incidence of 204 per lakh population.<\/p>\n<p>The Government has plans to use artificial intelligence (AI) for addressing various issues in TB like AI assisted TB Smear Microscopy and X-Ray in screening for TB. Also AI is being explored for monitoring treatment adherence and surveillance of TB disease at State and District levels.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Relevance: prelims\/mains: paper II: Government policies and interventions.
