{"id":370,"date":"2018-04-09T12:15:54","date_gmt":"2018-04-09T06:45:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/?p=370"},"modified":"2018-04-12T13:11:53","modified_gmt":"2018-04-12T07:41:53","slug":"van-dhan-vikas-kendra-ministry-of-tribal-affairs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/van-dhan-vikas-kendra-ministry-of-tribal-affairs\/","title":{"rendered":"Van Dhan Vikas Kendra &#8211; Ministry of Tribal Affairs"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>The <strong>Ministry of Tribal Affairs<\/strong> has approved establishment of the first\u00a0multipurpose \u201c<strong>Van Dhan Vikas Kendra<\/strong>\u201d on pilot basis for establishment in <strong>Bijapur\u00a0<\/strong>District of <strong>Chhattisgarh<\/strong> State.<\/li>\n<li>The purpose of such Kendras is to provide <strong>skill up gradation<\/strong> and <strong>capacity building<\/strong> <strong>training<\/strong> and <strong>setting up of primary processing and value addition facility<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>This first model Van Dhan Vikas Kendra is being implemented\u00a0for training of 300 beneficiaries providing equipment\u2019s &amp; tools for <strong>primary level processing<\/strong> and <strong>infrastructure &amp; building for housing the Kendra<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>This Kendra to start with will have processing facility for Tamarind brick making, Mahua flower storage facility and chironjee cleaning and packaging.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED)<\/strong> has assigned the work for establishment of this pilot Vikas Kendra in Bijapur District of Chattisgarh to CGMFP Federation and Collector, Bijapur would be the coordinating force.<\/li>\n<li>The Van Dhan Vikas Kendras will be an important milestone in economic development of tribals involved in collection of <strong>Minor force produce (MFPs)<\/strong> by helping them in optimum utilization of natural resources and provide sustainable MFP-based livelihood in MFP-rich districts.<\/li>\n<li>Minor Forest Produce (MFP) is a major source of livelihood for tribals living in forest areas. \u00a0The importance of MFPs for this section of the society can be gauged from the fact that around 100 million forest dwellers depend on MFPs for food, shelter, medicines and cash income. It provides them critical subsistence during the lean seasons, particularly for primitive tribal groups such as hunter gatherers, and the landless.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tribals derive 20-40% of their annual income from MFP<\/strong> on which they spend major portion of their time.
