{"id":3396,"date":"2019-06-11T19:57:33","date_gmt":"2019-06-11T14:27:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/?p=3396"},"modified":"2019-06-11T19:57:33","modified_gmt":"2019-06-11T14:27:33","slug":"india-portugal-to-join-hands-in-setting-up-maritime-museum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/india-portugal-to-join-hands-in-setting-up-maritime-museum\/","title":{"rendered":"India, Portugal to join hands in setting up maritime museum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Relevant for Prelims and GS paper 3(IR):-<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"content-body-14269002-27698598\" class=\"_yeti_done\">\n<p>India and Portugal will cooperate in the setting up of a national maritime heritage museum at Lothal in\u00a0<strong>Gujarat.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Indian Navy is keen to be a stakeholder in the project and the Portuguese Navy has agreed to assist with their experience of administering the maritime museum in Lisbon, according to defence sources.<\/p>\n<p>Initial discussions were held during the visit of Portuguese Defence Minister Jo\u00e3o Gomes Cravinho to India in April.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was agreed that we could work together to develop the maritime museum at the ancient Indian site of Lothal.\u00a0<strong>Portugal\u00a0<\/strong>Navy looks after their museum in Lisbon so it was discussed that we in India could follow a similar model,\u201d a defence source said.
