coastlines.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong>Earthquakes<\/strong> threaten nearly 59% of the landmass, especially in the Himalayan belt.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong>Droughts<\/strong> affect over 68% of the country, particularly in arid and semi-arid regions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong>Landslides and avalanches<\/strong> are common in the Himalayan and northeastern states.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">According to the <strong>Global Climate Risk Index 2021<\/strong>, India ranked among the top 10 most climate-affected countries in 2019, underscoring the urgency of effective disaster preparedness.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong>Urban Vulnerability<\/strong>: Poor urban planning, encroachment, and unregulated construction increase disaster risks.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong>Climate Change<\/strong>: Rising sea levels, extreme weather events, and glacial melt are introducing newer risks and uncertainties.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong>Limited Funding and Insurance Penetration<\/strong>: Disaster risk financing mechanisms and
