However, progress has been slower than anticipated. As of recent reports, only 28% of public buildings and less than 10% of transportation systems have been retrofitted for accessibility.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">\u200b<strong> Deendayal Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme (DDRS)<\/strong>: Provides financial assistance to NGOs for the rehabilitation of PwDs, focusing on education, vocational training, and community-based rehabilitation.\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong>Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase\/Fitting of Aids and Appliances (ADIP) Scheme<\/strong>: Facilitates the provision of assistive devices to enhance mobility and independence among PwDs.\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Employment_and_Economic_Inclusion\"><\/span><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong>Employment and Economic Inclusion<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Employment remains a critical area for the empowerment of PwDs.
