Ambedkar\u2019s<\/strong> radical ideas on <strong>land ownership, caste-based exclusion, and India&#8217;s agrarian social structure<\/strong>. His work shows a deep understanding of <strong>agrarian class structure, a key concept in rural sociology.<\/strong> \u201cIn an agricultural country, agriculture can be the main source of living. But this source is not open to the Untouchable. This aligns with <strong>Marxist sociology,<\/strong> where ownership of <strong>means of production determines class position<\/strong>. For Ambedkar, <strong>landlessness was a structural form of caste exploitation.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong>Ambedkar&#8217;s critique can be analyzed using A.R. Desai\u2019s Marxist perspective<\/strong> on agrarian relations, where rural classes are defined by their control over land. <strong>Ambedkar extended this class critique to highlight the intersectionality of caste and class.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Opposition_to_Zamindari_and_Peasant_Proprietorship\"><\/span><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong>Opposition to Zamindari and Peasant Proprietorship<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong>Ambedkar was vehemently opposed to the Zamindari system<\/strong>, seeing it as a feudal remnant perpetuating caste hierarchies. Surprisingly, he also opposed the <strong>idea of peasant proprietorship,<\/strong> arguing it would benefit upper-caste peasants while excluding landless Dalits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">He advocated for <strong>state ownership and redistribution of land,<\/strong> even <strong>calling for nationalisation of land and collectivised agriculture<\/strong>\u2014ideas that aligned with <strong>Fabian socialism and state-led development strategies in early post-independence India.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 serif;\">Ambedkar\u2019s proposal for separate villages for Dalits stemmed from his understanding of the structural violence embedded in traditional Hindu villages. <strong>The \u2018Ghettoisation of Dalits\u2019 outside the village boundary ensured their exclusion from not just land, but also dignity, education, and employment.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">He even suggested migration to more progressive regions like Sindh and Indore to escape caste-based oppression\u2014an early call for spatial mobility as a tool of social mobility.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Caste_Class_and_Rural_Inequality\"><\/span><span style=\"font-family: georgia,
