From education and health to the workforce and leadership, women are not just beneficiaries of growth but active architects of India\u2019s socio-economic transformation.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 Padhao<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have improved enrolment of girls in schools, especially in rural areas.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women now account for <\/span><b>43% of total STEM graduates<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in India (World Bank), one of the highest globally.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\" start=\"2\">\n<li>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><b> Political Representation<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The passage of the <\/span><b>Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam (Women\u2019s Reservation Bill, 2023)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reserves <\/span><b>33% of seats in Lok Sabha and State Assemblies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for women.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over 1.4 million elected women representatives serve at the Panchayati Raj level, accounting for <\/span><b>46%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of total positions\u2014enhancing grassroots governance.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\" start=\"3\">\n<li>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><b> Workforce and Entrepreneurship<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the <\/span><b>Periodic Labour Force Survey (2022\u201323)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>female labour force participation rate (FLFPR)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has improved to <\/span><b>37%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from 23.3% in 2017\u201318.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India has over <\/span><b>15 million women-owned businesses<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Initiatives like <\/span><b>Stand-Up India<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>MUDRA Yojana<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>Self-Help Groups (SHGs)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under <\/span><b>DAY-NRLM<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have empowered women economically.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 potential:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><b> Gender Gap in Workforce<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India\u2019s <\/span><b>gender wage gap<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> remains at <\/span><b>28%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and women are overrepresented in low-paying informal sectors.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Only <\/span><b>20.37%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of Indian enterprises are owned by women (6th Economic Census), indicating a gender imbalance in entrepreneurship.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\" start=\"2\">\n<li>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><b> Safety and Mobility<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Concerns around <\/span><b>women\u2019s safety<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in public and workplaces restrict their mobility and participation in economic activities.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Crimes against women, including domestic violence and harassment, remain a serious concern.
