As a result, <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>subsistence farmers are further marginalised or depeasantised. <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Emergence of new classes: The emergence of a new class of &#8220;gentlemen farmers&#8221;<\/strong> in <strong>India reflects the changing agrarian landscape influenced by globalization<\/strong>.<\/span> These individuals, often from <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>diverse backgrounds, such as retired civil and military service personnel, are drawn to agriculture as a vocation<\/strong>,<\/span> signalling a shift towards <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>educated, specialized, and business-oriented farming<\/strong><\/span> practices, aligning with <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>globalized trends in modern agriculture and entrepreneurial endeavours.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong>Rural-Urban Migration: <\/strong>As agriculture becomes less profitable and industrial and service sectors grow due to globalization<strong>, <span style=\"color: #000000;\">there is a shift of labour from rural areas to urban centres<\/span><\/strong>. This migration has implications for the agrarian class, as some rural workers leave agriculture entirely. <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>It has also led to feminisation of agriculture, as migration is usually male dominated.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Deere and Gunewardena argue that despite the increasing participation of women in agriculture, <\/strong><\/span>there hasn&#8217;t been a concurrent enhancement in their involvement in household decision-making.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Socioeconomic Inequality<\/strong>:<\/span> Globalization can exacerbate socioeconomic inequalities within the agrarian class.
