distinct academic disciplines that study different aspects of human society and behaviour. <strong>Sociology is the systematic and scientific study of human behaviour, social groups, and society.<\/strong> Sociology is a discipline that examines how humans interact with each other <strong><em>and how human behaviour, values, norms is shaped by structural and institutional forces and look at how we help create those social structures and institutions<\/em><\/strong>. <strong>Political science is that <\/strong><strong>branch of knowledge that deals with the state and systems of the status of discipline to Sociology, the <strong>early sociologists separated sociology from political science on the ground that the Political Science<\/strong> was concentrated with the state and power whereas Sociology was a broader discipline associated with the study of entire society. <strong><em>Sociology is devoted to the study of all aspects of society, whereas conventional political science restricted itself mainly to the study of power as embodied in formal organization.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong>The subject matter of sociology is open ended and the political science has more codified subject matter<\/strong>. Sociology stresses the interrelationships between <strong>sets of institutions including government, <\/strong>whereas <strong>political science tends to turn attention towards the processes within the government<em>.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong><em>Complementing Nature <\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Despite their initial divergence, both fields share overlapping interests. <strong>For instance, both sociology and political science study social institutions such as family, education, and religion.<\/strong> Sociologists examine <strong><em>how these institutions shape individuals&#8217; behavior and interactions, while political scientists explore how they intersect with political processes and governance.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;\"><em>Political science provides for law which affect welfare of masses. Sociology provides data and basis for these law and policies. <\/em><\/strong><em style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;\">Social considerations like caste, kinship, and demography play an important role in political decision making<strong>.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;\"><em>Both the discipline converges at the level of both subject matter and methodology. <\/em><\/strong><em style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;\">The subject matter off both the discipline is same , state , nation , voting pattern , social movement etc. Methods have been used interchangeably<strong>e. Parsons theory of Social System has been used by David Easton in analysing the working of state.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Over time, <strong>sociology and political science have come to complement each other. Sociological perspectives, such as conflict theory and symbolic interactionism, have been instrumental in understanding political phenomena.<\/strong><\/span>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">For example, conflict theory helps analyze power struggles within society, while symbolic interactionism <strong>sheds light on the role of symbols and communication in politics. <\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong><em>Max Weber&#8217;s ideas on the rationalization of society and the concept of authority have contributed to political science&#8217;s understanding of governance and sociology&#8217;s analysis of bureaucracy.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong><em>Sociology has contributed significantly to the study of social movements and their impact on political change<\/em><\/strong>. Thinkers <strong>like Karl Marx,<\/strong> who is central to both sociology and political science, explored how economic structures influence political power dynamics and revolutions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Sociologists, exemplified by Max Weber, have made significant contributions to the field <strong>known as political sociology<\/strong>. Over time, <strong>political sociology has increasingly centered its efforts on the empirical examination of political behaviour<\/strong>. In recent Indian elections, there has been a noticeable emphasis on in-depth analyses of voting patterns.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">By then, another development occurred in <strong><em>America Known as the behavioural approach to political phenomena. <\/em><\/strong>This was initiated by the <strong><em>University of Chicago. In the thirties<\/em><\/strong>, attempts were made by various scholars to create a scientific discipline of behavioural politic although now a day this attempt stands discredited.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">It is becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish political science from political sociology.
