list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><b><i>Remaining financially viable<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> without a predictable salary<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><b><i>Managing the logistics of work<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> without administrative and infrastructural supports<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Crafting a <\/span><b><i>clear work identity without any officially assigned roles<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><b>Navigating an uncertain career path without predictable care<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">er options offered by companies and industries<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coping with <\/span><b><i>emotional turbulence<\/i><\/b> <b>occasioned by highs and lows of working independently<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><b><i>Adjusting work relationships<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> without a stable set of regular colleagues.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><b>Woodcock and Graham:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Moreover, <\/span><b>an increasingly precarious nature of delivery work is also intensified by the loss of dignity, lack of financial security and the opportunities for progress in a career.\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><b style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><i>According to Nair<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> gig workers easily fall into <\/span><b style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">the role of passive victims <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">subject to the machinations of technology corporates. <\/span><i><b style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Informal sector reduces <\/b><b>laborers<\/b><b style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">\u00a0into just commodities and <\/b><\/i><b style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">machines,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and therefore, they are <\/span><b style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><i>completely being alienated.<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><b>Stanford:\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gig employment growth is replete with the challenges of nature and quality of these jobs, as this growth has brought in the structural changes that further strive away from standard employment relationships as well as legal protections and expect these modern workers to function as \u201c<\/span><b>independent and atomised workers.\u201d<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><b style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;\">Cramer and Krueger<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Platform economy promotes flexibility and assures autonomy to the workers.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><b style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;\">Hewison and Kalleberg:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> In the case of the developing countries in Asia, <\/span><b style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;\">precarious work<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has been the norm where being locked into precarious work and fewer better opportunities for work are also seen as a loss.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><b style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;\">Dhar: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In India, globalisation and fragmentation of supply chains coupled with technology has led to an ever-growing platform economy that is leveraging on the large pool of unorganised workers in an informal urban sphere of labour.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><b style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;\">Graham Rosenblat and Stark<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Workers\u2019 subordinated agency is embedded within the platform\u2019s reputation, rating, and task allocation mechanism. Hence, they are not considered as traditional \u201cemployees.\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Consequently, these workers do not benefit from labour rights as guaranteed in the labour laws of the country<\/span><b><i>.<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><b><i>The Fair Work India Ratings (2022) speak of the declining earnings and deteriorating working conditions of delivery labourers. The report has evaluated and rated the working conditions of 12 food delivery platforms in India. Of these, Swiggy and Zomato were found to have a poor record.<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The rapidly <\/span><b><i>burgeoning gig workforce<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is ushering in a new economic revolution, <\/span><b><i>delivery workers face acute exploitation in many aspects.<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It commences from the phase of recruitment itself, wherein workers are burdened to incur all expenses of transportation facilities and gadgets without compensation at any stage of service. Moreover, all popular food delivery platforms charge `1,500\u2212`2,000 as security deposit from each newly joining worker. <\/span><b>Thus, delivery workers start their first working day with debt, resembling modern debt bondage.<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are other major aspects of the delivery platform work that directly affects their well-being<\/span><b><i>.
