This Gender skew could have been attributed to there being fewer women than men in the adult population.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\"><strong>Sociological Perspective<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2018Gender and health\u2019 is a contested concept whose various meanings have evolved in the course of the emergence and development of social movements concerned with the health of men and women.<\/li>\n<li>At the heart of the meaning of \u2018gender and health\u2019 advanced by the women\u2019s health movement is the idea of a relationship of social and political inequality between men and women in the field of medically dominated health services.<\/li>\n<li>Population health discourse, embraced by the \u2018new managerialism\u2019 in public health policy and the \u2018new public health\u2019, proposes a concept of \u2018gender and health\u2019 that is based on sex differences in health conditions.<\/li>\n<li>This is also evoked in men\u2019s health discourse so that \u2018gender and health\u2019 refers to the measurable margins of difference in the health conditions of mutually exclusive populations\u2014men and women.<\/li>\n<li>Inequality is a feature of this representation but it relates to sex differences in health rates.
