state or condition where a nation&#8217;s most cherished values and beliefs, its way of life, its institutions of governance and its unity, welfare, and well-being as a Nation and of people are permanently protected and continuously enhanced.<\/li>\n<li>In other words, National securityrefers to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">security<\/a>\u00a0of a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nation_state\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nation state<\/a>, including its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Citizenship\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">citizens<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Economy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">economy<\/a>, and institutions, and is regarded as a duty of government.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Dimensions of National Security <\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Originally conceived as protection against\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Offensive_(military)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">military attack<\/a>, national security is now widely understood to include non-military dimensions, including\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Economic_security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">economic security<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Energy_security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">energy security<\/a>,\u00a0environmental <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Environmental_security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">security<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Food_security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">food security<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Computer_security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cyber security<\/a><\/li>\n<li>The basic elements of National security are as follows:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Security<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>In practice, national security is associated primarily with managing physical threats and with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Military\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">military<\/a>\u00a0capabilities used for doing so.That is, national security is often understood as the capacity of a nation to mobilise military forces to guarantee its borders and to deter or successfully defend against physical threats including\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Offensive_(military)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">military aggression<\/a>and attacks by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Violent_non-state_actor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">non-state actors<\/a>, such as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Terrorism\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">terrorism<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Territorial Integrity<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Nation should protect itself from all illegal intrusions and resource exploitation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Socio-political Security: <\/strong>It has the two components:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">\n<li>Maintenance of public order- Disturbed public order has a bearing on political stability and people blame the government for failing to maintain the public order and demand change in government<\/li>\n<li>Freedom from oppression and crime at the hands of certain people of the society<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Economic Security:<\/strong>\u00a0Nation to have a stable income or other sources to support a\u00a0standard of living now and in the near future.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Environmental and Ecological Security<\/strong>: Effective conservation of natural environment in the face of industrial and agricultural expansion and population growth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Energy Security:\u00a0<\/strong> To have access to cheap and renewable sources of energy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Moral and Spiritual Consensus<\/strong>:\u00a0 All People should
