{"id":1076,"date":"2018-06-12T11:58:42","date_gmt":"2018-06-12T06:28:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/?p=1076"},"modified":"2018-06-12T12:03:01","modified_gmt":"2018-06-12T06:33:01","slug":"current-affairs-plus-12th-june-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/triumphias.com\/blog\/current-affairs-plus-12th-june-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Current Affairs Plus-(12th June 2018)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Lithium Ion Battery project<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Central Electro Chemical Research Institute (CECRI), Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu and RAASI Solar Power Pvt Ltd have signed a Memorandum of Agreement for transfer of technology for India\u2019s first Lithium Ion (Li-ion) Battery project.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">CECRI is under Central Science and Industrial Research (CSIR).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">CSIR-CECRI has set up a demo facility in Chennai to manufacture prototype Lithium-Ion cells.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">It has secured global IPRs with potential to enable cost reduction, coupled with appropriate supply chain and manufacturing technology for mass production.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Currently, Indian manufacturers source Lithium Ion Battery from China, Japan and South Korea among some other countries.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">India is one of the largest importers and in 2017, it imported nearly 150 Million US Dollar worth Li-Ion batteries.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Li-Ion batteries have applications in Energy Storage System \u2013 from hearing aid to container sized batteries to power a cluster of villages etc.,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Lithium-ion batteries can power any electrical application without the need of physical wires-means wireless.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Apps of Ministry of Power<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><b><i>To bring transparency and to disseminate information to public at large following Apps are launched by the Ministry of Power:<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><b>SAUBHAGYA\u00a0\u2013 App for tracking household electrification.<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><b>VidyutPravah\u00a0\u2013 <\/b>The Mobile\/Web App provides real time information of current demand met, shortages if any, surplus power available and the prices in Power Exchange.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><b>UJALA\u00a0(UnnatJyoti by Affordable LED`S for All) \u2013 <\/b>App provides real time updates on the LED distribution happening across the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><b>UrjaMitra\u00a0\u2013 monitoring of power availability and sending power cut information through SMS<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><b>MERIT\u2013 <\/b>information pertaining to marginal variable cost and source wise purchase of electricity.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><b>UDAY- <\/b>Allows people to compare DISCOMs on the basis of 26 major performance parameters.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><b>URJA\u00a0(Urban Jyoti Abhiyaan) \u2013 <\/b>It is an informative App for Urban Distribution Sector. It captures Consumer centric parameters from the IT systems created under IPDS.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><b>TARANG\u00a0(Transmission App for real time monitoring &amp; Growth) \u2013 <\/b>It is an IT Web\/mobile based platform to provide status of both inter and intra state Transmission Projects in the country. It will be organized by Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India in association with Government of Mauritius.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">The conference is aimed at providing common platform to several Hindi scholars, writers and laureates from different parts of the world to contribute the\u00a0 language.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">World Hindi Conference <\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">The World Hindi Conference is major event organized every three years by MEA to increase the popularity of Hindi globally. The first conference was held from 10 to 12 January 1975 in Nagpur, Maharashtra and was inaugurated by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">In remembrance of the first conference, every year 10th January is being observed as World Hindi Day.
