For tomato farmers, the share drops to 33%, onion farmers receive 36%, and potato farmers 37%, as indicated by the central bank’s studies on inflation in vegetables, pulses, and fruits.
• The research also revealed that among pulses, around 75% of the consumer rupee spent on gram is returned to the farmers. Unlike cereals and dairy products, the farmers’ share of the consumer rupee for fruits and vegetables is lower due to factors such as perishability, regionality, and seasonality.
